| INITIAL PREPARATION Lynch gate's are a economical structure to provide focus and style to an entrance or a retreat to the backyard. Establish the area where your Garden Lynch gate can be located. Most common sites are at entrance to dwelling located a front fence or leading down a path. Consider where the structure will provide only a walkway option or whether you wish to provide a seat within the structure. This brochure considers a basic size of 1800 wide x 1500 mm long. Overall height 2100 mm. This style is common with main difference being variance to these sizes or further requirements to overall finish or materials you require. DECIDING ON TYPE OF MATERIAL Treated Pine and Cypress Pine are the most widely used Timbers used for external structures. If a roof is to be incorporated, Roof options can include utilizing Treated Pine Lattice, Sheet roofing such as Colorbond or an external weatherboard such as W.R. Cedar, Weathertex or Hardiplank maybe considered. Material Options to consider Roof Cladding – Treated Pine Lattice, W.R. Cedar, Weathertex or Hardiplank Weatherboards, and Sheet roofing products such as Colorbond Post – Treated Pine or Cypress – required as generally post embedded into ground Frame – Treated Pine – dry after treatment to reduce twist and wrapping.

| It is assumed the size 1500 x 1500 mm. . Variations will apply if other materials are used or size of structure alters. Treated Pine Posts 90 x 90 mm 4/2.7 Beams 140 x 35mm 3 x 1.5 mtr, Rafters 90 x 35 mm 6 x 1.2 mtr, 90 x 45mm Rebated 2 x 1.5 Timber should be re-dried treated Pine. Selecting dry treated pine will ensure timber chosen is both externally durable plus being re-dried will reduce twisting and wrapping commonly found in timbers not re-dried Roofing:- Three Options are included below Sheets Roof Option 4 x 1.2mtr Colorbond, Roll-top Ridge 1/1.5mtr – Note: 2 Battens 70 x 35 mm x 1.5 would be required when using this optionLattice Roof Option 1800 x 1200 x 2Weatherboard Option 12 x 1.5 meter assuming 200mm coverage per board Note: Angled 100 x 100mm flashing to seal to ridge will be required for both Lattice and Weatherboard optionsMain Hardware Required Concrete – Rapid Set 40 kg x 4, Bolts / Nuts/ Washers 4 1/2 x 3/8 x 8, 75mm Bullet Head Galvanised nails, Roofing Screws or 40mm Galvanised Nail Clouts (dependant upon roof option taken) Other Materials: Dependant upon finishing touches decided upon some timber moldings for around posts can be added to provide a enhanced finishing touch. Shown in this brochure is lattice to Gable panels and lattice panels to sides with a finial to the front entrance of structure. We recommend using dry after treatment Treated Pine that will provide a long lasting product to structure. Our in-yard display demonstrates using both Weathertex ® and Hardiplank as options for roofing your project although there are a range of options available for you to chose from.
