| QUALITY & PRODUCT INFORMATION: We stock only Kiln Dried “A” grade Merbau. When comparing price and availability check to ensure their product is not "wet" Merbau standard and better grade. We do not purchase our supplies from auction yards, distressed stock. HOW CAN I TELL IF THE PRODUCT IS MERBAU?: We do not sell similar looking timbers as Merbau. Merbau should always show a yellow flick within the grain. If you cannot see that it's not Merbau. Generally colour varies from medium red to darkish red colour. It is noted that because a timber is red does not mean it is durable for external usage. BE PREPARED FOR LAYING & STAINING: Merbau does throw a red stain when water is applied. This will reduce after a few washes. Care to be taken, if Merbau is being laid adjacent to paving or concrete, due to the stain coming from timber in the early stages we suggest (1) to apply water deck (allow to dry over night) a least a couple of time prior to applying a decking stain or oil. (2) Protect your paving from stain and wash off immediately should stain find its way on paving. Washing down timber will assist decking oil to be absorbed into timber and therefore provide for longer product protection. RANDOM & SET LENGTHS: Our price assumes a good range of lengths, generally 1.8 & longer. All “set length requirements” for lengths 3.6 mtr and longer may carry a 5% surcharge subject to availability. QUALITY & PRODUCT INFORMATION: We sell both “dry after treatment” & "Wet" Treated Pine Decking. "Dry after treatment" provide our customers a treated decking timber option that provides more stability, better finish than the cheaper "wet after treatment" timber. Using a "dry after treatment" treated pine will ensure you will continue enjoy you deck for many years to come. If your selection is for "wet" treated Pine decking then ensure timber is fasten into it's application prior to allowing timber to move during its drying process. BE PREPARED FOR LAYING & STAINING: Treated Pine “dry” will take a stain immediately. All timbers in exposed applications requires protection. Treated Pine will benefit from being finished with a decking oil. Treated Pine provides a perfect timber to apply varied timber stain options and therefore provide great opportunity to consider the "colour" you wish your deck to finish. Always use an oil based stain to ensure the timber is protected from weathering. "Wet" Pine products do require approx 1 - 3 weeks to allow treatment moisture to evaporate to allow a paint or stain application to be effective. Seek advice from your paint / stain manufacturer for their recommendations. RANDOM & SET LENGTHS: Treated Pine is normally supplied in set lengths. We normally stock a range of lengths which vary from time to. Due to this factor check for availability when enquiring to ensure we have existing stock available for immediate dispatch. | |||||||||
